Time Slows down here

About 70km from Porto, is Baião, which connects the peak of Marão to one of the most beautiful reservoirs of the Douro River. The Ovil is a clear water river with various cataracts and trout fish.

With immense natural resources, such as Serra da Aboboreira, Marão and Castelo, it is one of the Portuguese municipalities with the best environmental quality and has the highest percentage of green and forest area in Porto region.

And as one says, it is only an hour from the rest of the world (which is the time it takes from the airport).

THE TALE

In this beautiful village of Eiriz, senhor Abel ´Moleiro´ and his wife, Dona Amélia, lived and raised 5 children. His milled the corn into flour, in the three mills on the water of the river Ovil, between Porto and Régua, with the Douro as their home. The MOinhos were the livelihood of this simple and large family.

The children grew up and went to Porto, the Mills ended up being abandoned and the majestic vegetation ended up taking over everything.

RUSTIC LUXURY

At that time, Eduarda, discovered that there were really reasons to believe that nature knows what it does.

In this place with the village close by and with everything that is needed, the world seems to be light years away. The only sounds that are heard are those of nature and time flows at the pace of each one. She transformed these ancient ruins into a beautiful cottage.

The house where Mr. Abel Moleiro's family lived, is now proudly the "Casa da D.Amélia" and the old mills nicknamed as the "Best kept secret in the Douro".

Come and enjoy this piece of paradise and create memories of a lifetime.
